Online advertising is a field that is constantly changing and growing, as well as continuously amping up the standards. But when it comes to creating banner ads, HTML5 has pretty much become the standard. This could be a problem for anyone with no coding knowledge or developed design skills, for that matter. If you’re good with writing code and know your way around a sketch pad, you’ll probably manage. But what if that is not the case?

Well, lucky for you (and me), there’s quite an impressive collection of tools you can use to bridge that gap. They’ll turn you into a pro ad designer in no time. So, pay attention and pick your favorite.

1. Viewst

Viewst

Viewst is the perfect tool for anyone exploding with creative ideas that doesn’t have the necessary art skills to make them come to life.

Creating vibrant and captivating banner ads becomes easy with this tool as it automates most of the process. You don’t even have to know any code. All there is to do is upload a CSV file with all the required information, and Viewst will generate what you need for the campaign. Plus, it comes with over 100 customizable templates, so you can start with a rough idea and then truly make it your own.

You can create custom-sized ads, as well as gain access to high-quality images and fonts. That way, even the design steps become quick and easy.

There’s an option to choose from 14 banner sizes and 23 social media formats. That means that whatever you’ve created can be used on Google, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.

Once you’ve tinkered with the ad a bit and are happy with your creation, export it in any format of your liking, including HTML, GIF, PNG, and JPEG. And that’s it, get ready to take any platform by storm.

The best thing, this tool won’t break the bank either. Viewst is currently priced at $49 on AppSumo, with all future updates included.

2. Creatopy

Creatopy

Creatopy, formerly known as Bannersnack, is ideal for those working in larger teams. It makes collaboration so easy with features like setting up team roles, sharing your progress and finished work with colleagues, and allowing multiple people to work on the same project together. So, this tool doesn’t only make the creation of banners easier, it also allows for simple and straightforward teamwork.

When it comes to the design aspect itself, Creatopy certainly isn’t lacking. It offers a vast array of ready-to-use templates categorized by industry and preferred theme.

One of its standout features is the ability to animate your designs, making them stand out and draw more attention from the get-go.

A single design usually gets published on multiple platforms, but thanks to Creatopy, they never have to be exactly the same. The scaling tool is going to make sure the proportions are correct and fit the platform format, while the smart converter allows the same design to be downloaded in various formats (HTML, JPEG, etc.)

There are three different pricing plans for this tool, and the prices range from $17/mo per editor to a custom price for enterprises. Each subscription plan has better features that build upon the previous plan.

3. Bannerflow

Bannerflow

If what you’re looking for is to get your ad out there ASAP, Bannerflow is what you need. Their creative studio ad creator can speed up your design process by 80%.

The process itself requires absolutely no coding and the tool offers a fantastic feature for those in a hurry – creative automation. This feature allows for quick reproduction of your design while maintaining maximum quality thanks to an advanced image optimization tool.

All of the necessary brand assets like logos and such can be stored on the cloud for easy access.

Also, there’s an option to add automatic and live data feeds quickly.

Just like our previous entry, this tool also features both smart scaling and easy animation. The builder itself is drag-and-drop, the simplest of the simple. And the best part of it all is that you can choose to live preview whatever is being made to make sure the design is top-notch every step of the way.

In order to find out the price of Bannerflow, you’ll have to book a demo, as there are no prices listed on their official website.

4. Bannerwise

Bannerwise

Bannerwise is pretty similar to our other entries. The ad builder allows the user to combine direction, style, and effects to ensure every ad is finished fast and ends up looking great.

What stands out about this builder is its ability to add a video with a single click. So, you might want to take advantage of that because videos tend to be way more engaging than text and images.

The ads you’ll build with this tool will also be data-driven, or in other words, catered to your brand and target audience for maximum efficiency.

The design process is templated-based, and one really neat feature this tool provides is editing things like color or text in batches on all of your designs at once.

When it comes to publishing, if you choose to opt for Bannerwise, you can do it directly from the platform. Bannerwise has integration with all of the most common DPSs; plus, if they don’t have integration with your choice, they’re more than willing to build you a custom integration system.

The reason why we put this tool in the last spot is its pricing. The cheapest subscription plan costs 275€/ mo, and that’s just the version that doesn’t include premium DPSs or dynamic display and dynamic social ads. The most affordable plan you could get, which includes those features, costs 459€/mo.

Final Thoughts

All of the tools listed today do their job quite well, so no matter which one you happen to choose, we think it’ll serve you well. However, our final recommendation would be Viewst. It has plenty of useful features, and the team collaboration feature is soon to come. Plus, it is the only tool on this list you can get as a one-time purchase, with no subscription fees involved.

A sticky element is an element with a position that is based on the user’s scroll percentage. It shifts between relative and fixed, depending on that percentage. For example, if you have some sort of header on your website that stays visible even when you are scrolling, that is a sticky element because it sticks in one position and does not move.

CSS allows you to program sticky elements using the CSS property called position and the property value sticky. There are other property values as well, such as static, relative, absolute, fixed, etc.

Static and relative make an element stay in place the whole time, but absolute and fixed don’t.  Instead, when you are scrolling, they create a floating element. Using these properties sounds simple in theory, but it is actually pretty difficult, especially for someone doing it for the first time.

CSS code snippet

In order to do it the correct way, you have to know that a sticky element has two main parts, the sticky container and the sticky item. The sticky item is the element that we used position: sticky on. The sticky container is the HTML element that wraps the sticky itemIt represents the area in which the sticky item can float and can not go beyond.

I could go on and on about sticky elements and how they are created, but I am already a bit confused, and I believe that so are you. Manually creating sticky elements is complicated, and it does not work on all browsers. That is why I will present you with something that is easier to use and does not require you to know how to code. That something is a plugin called WP Sticky.

 WP Sticky Plugin

WP Sticky

When talking about the WP Sticky plugin, the first thing that we have to mention is how fast it works. There is no need for coding whatsoever, and you can create a sticky element with just a few clicks.

With this plugin, you know exactly what something will look like before you even save it as a sticky element. Also, you can make as many sticky elements as you want or need.

WP Sticky settings page

Another great thing about WP Sticky is that it is compatible with all themes, page builders, and plugins, meaning you do not have to worry about any potential conflicts.

Certainly, a great feature is the 24/7 support you can get from the people who actually built the plugin, so you do not have to worry about a support agent not knowing how to explain something or how to solve a certain problem. This will be of huge service to you and anyone that ends up using this plugin, and it will save you many hours you would otherwise spend trying to figure out a solution.

Also, since the plugin is so fast and user-friendly, many people have turned to using it instead of coding sticky elements manually. I mean, why code when it is so easy to create them using WP Sticky.

How It Works

Now that we have said a few words about the plugin, I will go through its features and how it actually works.

WP Sticky dashboard

The most important thing is that you can make literally any element sticky. It just has to have a name, ID, or class so the plugin can recognize it as a unique element that will stick to the top of the page even when you scroll. You can create a sticky widget, sticky sidebar, sticky menu, sticky banner, sticky call-to-action, whatever.

When you open the plugin in WordPress, the first thing you will see is an input field and a caption asking you to type in a nickname for the element. Below that is the option to choose the element you want to make sticky.

WP Sticky element nickname

After doing all of that, you can scroll down to see the effects menu, where you can choose if you want your sticky element to slide down or fade-in when it first appears. Once you decide on an effect,  just press the Save Changes button in the top right corner. And that is it; your first sticky element is on your website!

With WP Sticky, you can position the sticky element wherever you want. For example, you can leave room between the top of the page and your element, so it does not always stick to the top of the page.

You can also choose a minimum and a maximum screen size on which a particular element is going to be sticky, so if you have a fully responsive website, you can make specific elements not stick if you are viewing your website on a smartphone, for example.

WP Sticky screen size settings

Next, you have the option to activate a push-up element that will push the sticky element up once it reaches it (that can be a sidebar widget, for example).

In the image below, you will see the option for picking the push-up element and also the option of not sticking the element on particular pages, posts, categories, tags, and post types.

Also, as you can see, at the very bottom is the option to completely delete a sticky element,

WP Sticky push element option

Other very useful features are the Z-index and the Check for Admin Toolbar feature. The latter enables checking if the user has an Admin Toolbar at the top of the page. If so, the sticky element will not disrupt it or be disrupted by it.

The Z-index is used if other elements disrupt or overlap with your sticky element in order to make it stop.

WP Sticky admin toolbar

Below the Z-index option is a brief explanation of what it does, which states that if you do not understand its function fully, you should type in “99999”. This is the highest value for the Z-index and will allow you to see what it does.

There are also three modes that WP Sticky can run in. Those modes are the Legacy Mode, the Dynamic Mode, and the Debug Mode.

The Legacy Mode is there because the old version of the plugin had a different method of creating sticky elements. So if you are used to that, you can turn the Legacy Mode on, and the plugin will run like it did in its first version.

The Dynamic Mode is used along with Legacy Mode and will solve frequent problems that appear in responsive themes. Responsive themes are the ones that adapt to the size of the screen, so they can always look nice and neat, even on other devices besides laptops and desktops, like smartphones, for example.

Person holding smartphone

The Debug Mode is used for finding out the possible reasons why your element is not sticking. When you switch on the Debug Mode, it will show you a list of error messages so you can see what is stopping your sticky elements from working properly.

User Interface

When talking about WP Sticky’s user interface, we can say that it is very simple, and anyone can figure it out. With everything being presented through such a nice, straightforward design, you will most likely get by without any help.

If you do need help by any chance, there is a tutorial on how to use the plugin, but it only takes minutes to figure things out by taking WP Sticky for a spin.

In short, when using the plugin, you can see a button for adding new sticky elements in the top left corner, and below that, you will see the sticky elements that are already active or inactive. On the left-hand side is the menu, where you have all the settings. And in the top right corner are the Save Changes and Preview Sticky buttons.

An interface this simple leaves no room for mistakes; plus, you can always check if there is some troubleshooting required or not.

This plugin is so easy to use, it will appeal to anyone, and with it, there is no need for excessive coding and doing complicated tasks when you can do everything in just a few clicks, on every website, not just the WordPress ones.

Pricing

WP Sticky pricing

I must say, I was a bit skeptical when writing a review on this plugin because I could not believe that there is a plugin that can rule out coding completely and can achieve the same things with such ease and speed.

It is truly a great experience to use WP Sticky because you will feel proud of yourself and your website afterward.

So, if you are running a website that needs a bit of revamping and want to make it look as good as possible, get WP Sticky because it is worth the money. The pricing plans go from $39 for the Single license (one website) to  $99 for the Agency license (100 different websites). Yes, you read that right, it is only $1 per site.

Also, if you end up not liking WP Sticky, there is a 7-day money-back guarantee, which gives you plenty of time to figure out if you like the plugin or not.

Wrapping things up

In conclusion, this plugin is all you need to make as many sticky elements as you want in just a few clicks. So do not miss out on WP Sticky, as it is a great plugin that will give your site’s aesthetic a boost!

Logos have been around for a long time, but the process of designing and using them has changed quite dramatically over time. New technology, high internet speeds, and online apps have made it easier to create your logo.

Today, it’s possible for anyone in need of a logo for their business or any other organization to design one using an online app and to begin using it in as little as ten minutes. But it wasn’t always so.

Before the internet came to be used widely, businesses mainly had to rely on local designers to create logos for them. It was a long-winded and frequently expensive process. The coming of high-speed internet, cloud storage, and online design apps changed that in a very fundamental way.

Now it’s easier than ever before to create your logo with online apps that give you access to a wide range of design templates and styles.

A Brief History of Logo Design Evolution

Some of the most famous and recognizable logos today is Levi Strauss, Chanel, and the New York Yankees.

Without stretching the truth too far, we could see pub signs and the shingles that medieval professionals used to hang over their doors as the predecessors to modern-day logos. They used memorable but straightforward designs, combining images and text to symbolize a business and to attract clients.

But it wasn’t that easy to find a painter – artists in those days were mostly underpaid and led a nomadic life. So if you were a pub owner needing a sign, you had to wait for a painter to show up in your area, and then provide him food and drink and housing until the sign was completed.

Fast forward to the nineteenth century and the origins of the modern era of advertising, and things became a little better organized. With mass production came the idea of branding and of building a strong customer base through brand recognition. Professional artists began to turn their hand to logo design, and by the early decades of the twentieth century, they were in high demand.

Some of the most famous and recognizable logos today – like Levi Strauss, Chanel, and the New York Yankees – date back to the nineteenth and mid-twentieth centuries.

However, well organized, the world of the logo design was still very limited until the internet came to be widely used. Before the internet. You had to find a local designer to make your logo because sketches and designs had to be shared and approved in person.

Sending designs through the mail was too cumbersome, except in special cases. Then along came the internet and digital design, and today we have digital branding companies that can do everything for you.

Transition to the Online World

To begin with, the internet made it much easier to find a designer. You were no longer limited to working with designers in your immediate location. If you saw an online portfolio you liked, you could contact the designer with your design brief and get started. The widespread use of the internet made it possible to work with designers who might be located anywhere in the world.

Designers used graphics programs to create logos and to share the image files via email. In the early days, of course, these files were large and clunky to send and download. Beginning with the SuperPaint System, which was introduced over the period from 1973 to 1979, graphics programs improved in sophistication and ease of use over time.

Adobe Flash, Microsoft Paint, and Adobe Illustrator made digital graphics more accessible.

Adobe Flash, Microsoft Paint, and Adobe Illustrator made digital graphics more accessible. But for a long time, these programs had to be downloaded and installed manually on each computer.

Even with graphics programs, it was still expensive to hire a designer, and the whole process took a long time. Many small business owners couldn’t afford the time and money to hire a professional designer. However, these graphics programs also began to make the design process more accessible to those who didn’t have professional training in art and design

It became increasingly more possible to skip working with a designer altogether and to design your logo. As technology continued to progress, the process of logo design became easier. Gradually software designers began to come up with programs that let you make your logo.

Logo Contests Crowdsource Global Talent

One rule of technology nowadays seems to be that it is changing all the time and changing at a very rapid pace. It also varies in many different directions at once, as software designers and users explore the possibilities of each innovation. At the same time that software designers began creating apps to design your logo. A new trend appeared in the world of logo design.

It was the use of logo contests to crowdsource artistic talent. Logo contests invite professional designers from around the world to compete to design a logo according to your specifications. It gives you access to a global pool of talent to choose the best design for your business.

There are many advantages to running a logo contest. The costs are much lower than working with a single designer. The contests produce hundreds of entries from talented professional designers around the world. It’s also a quick process, and the whole contest can be completed in two days. You also have the choice to work one-on-one with a designer whose entry you like to achieve a design to your satisfaction.

But the world of logo design has moved on one more step. Letting you create your logo with easy-to-use online apps. For many business owners, this can be a better choice than a logo contest.

Online Software to Design Your Logo

The latest stage in the logo design evolution is currently happening, with online software that lets you make your own logo. There’s no need to download any software or apps, and the design process is quick and intuitive. Using the hundreds of logo templates available. You can make your own logo design, in some cases free, in just a matter of minutes.

You can use online software that lets you make your own logo.

Logo makers simplify and streamline the entire process. You can secure the copyright to your design, and download high-quality vector files. These files can be used right away to print your logo on various media to spread the message of your brand. The process is flexible enough that if you want to work with a professional designer to elaborate or refine your design. You can use the files for that purpose as well.

Why Design Your Own Logo?

Your logo represents your brand and expresses your vision and values to the world. It’s the first and lasting impression you make on your customers, old and new. It is why you may have a particular idea of what you want your logo to look like. Though it may be challenging to put it into words.

Designing your logo with a logo maker gives you the artistic and design tools to bring your vision to life.

Designing your logo with a logo maker gives you the artistic and design tools to bring your vision to life. It puts you in control over the creative process of defining your brand. For many small business owners, that can be a valuable learning experience in itself.

The making of logos has changed a lot from the days of hand-painted signs. With online logo makers today that you can use to create designs in just minutes, you can choose how to represent your business best.

What hasn’t changed is the importance of logos in defining your business and pulling in new clients. Logos are still used to create recognition and trust, building confidence in your brand.

While talking about business slogans, one catchword that always beats everything in the tug of war is Creative. If you are also from the same lot, undeniably, you would want to ride high in the creative and innovative race, isn’t it?

With an unswervingly changing business environment, the only way to survive in the sea of brands is by adopting innovation from time-to-time. The easiest way to create a powerful impact on your users’ minds is by serving something creative on the platter.

That being said, there is no denying the fact that creativity and innovation cannot be obtained easily. The entire process does not only demand being productive but a lot of efforts as well.

Delving more into the creativity phenomenon, it is quite essential to comprehend the profound idea of Design Thinking. This prototype-centered and user-oriented methodology primarily suit business designs, services, and products.

Design Thinking is becoming one of the most talked about concepts. Therefore, it’s the time to adopt this concept to get the most out of it. So, if you were unfamiliar with this topic yet, here is everything you should know about Design Thinking.

What is Design Thinking?

Based on people and their perception, the design thinking definition may vary. However, in simple words, it is a process that designers use to resolve intricated problems and discover satisfactory resolutions for clients.

Since design mindset is always focused on the solution, the design thinking process attracts imagination, logic, systematic reasoning, and intuition to explore possible opportunities to provide desired results to the customer.

Key Elements of Design Thinking:

Unquestionably, design thinking, if used effectively, can be one of the most useful tools. Here are the top four elements that comprise design thinking:

  • Defining the Problem:

Defining the ProblemDespite it sounding an easy-going task, defining a problem is probably one of the most essential and challenging stages. Usually, design thinking entails a business or a team that would question the issue.

The entire process consists of defining and altering the opportunities before executing on them. For this, one must be thoroughly engrossed and immersed in the problem.

Just like a child, one must be competent enough to question every aspect until a satisfactory answer is found.

  • Creating & Considering Different Options:

Most of the time, even the most proficient and well-versed team fails to solve a problem in the same way. More so, if the time is less and appropriate results are generated, it becomes even more difficult.

Regardless of how logical a solution may appear out to be, the design thinking process demands different answers for reflection in such a manner that the result always looks the same.

This stage is wholly dedicated to opportunities; therefore, different perspectives are essential. With design thinking, one can obtain better answers if five people are working on one problem in a day, instead of one person working on the issue for five days.

  • Polishing Chosen Directions:

If at the initial stage, even the strongest of ideas can turn out to be vulnerable. Therefore, this stage allows the team to nurture the anticipated results and polish them to a certain extent that they become acceptable.

Design thinking process lets the potential of results to be realized by developing such an environment that favors experimentation and growth. This stage, several small ideas are combined to come to a better conclusion. And then, the process keeps on repeating until the accurate answer is discovered.

  • Choose the One & Execute:

Now is the time for execution and attaining objectives. Serious examples of solutions are developed, and testing takes an intense and critical turn. Since this is the last stage, either problem is completely solved, or chances are revealed.

The end stage helps the designer to apply the methodologies of design to every situation and bring out the best result.

Why Do You Need Design Thinking?

Why Do You Need Design Thinking? Now that you are familiar with what is design thinking, let’s talk about how advantageous it can prove out to be for you. Here are few reasons that would tell you why design thinking should guide your work for adequate results:

  • Emphasise on End Users:

The entire process of design thinking is meant to solve problems by keeping end users in the middle. By using this methodology, you develop such services or products that adequately fulfill the users’ needs.

Being integrally human-centric, this process tries to find out the frustrations and pain points of your users along with the solutions through which you can make their lives easier. Hence, giving your business leverage.

  • It is All About Testing:

Design Thinking centralizes the viewpoint of designing, testing, and repeating. Before you invest a lot of money, efforts, and time on a particular idea, the design thinking process helps you create several replicas and get feedback from customers and users.

Although, in comparison with problem-solving linear approaches, this process is a bit complicated; however, when it comes to results, design thinking brings out the most interesting and powerful results ever.

  • Creating Value with Problem Solving:

Creating Value with Problem Solving. Those who are new to this concept should not be taken away by its name. Design thinking is not restricted to innovation and creativity. But, specifically, it is about solving problems and creating value.

However, instead of going towards it in a traditional way, this concept uses principles of design to solve different problems, regardless of the problem size and the industry domain.

With time, the design thinking definition is continuously evolving. It is changing and challenging the way problems are solved; therefore, providing additional value to end users.

Over the period of time, design thinking has taken several jumps forward. In renowned companies like Whirlpool, Apple, and more, this concept plays an important role in making decisions. Hence, it not only enhances the experience of users but also provides value to shareholders.

Using design thinking templates and guides will not only help you save time but also gain valuable knowledge in understanding your customers, strategizing your projects, and designing amazing experiences.

With this process, you can bring out the best possible results by ideating and testing solutions, which is quite essential to understand customer needs to survive in the competitive marketplace. So, try and adopt this methodology in your business, if you haven’t till yet, and attain the best of outcomes.

After searching for the best one, we decided to scan the list of under construction plugins for WordPress. Among the listed WP extensions, we found the best one on top and decided to give it a chance. And you know what – Under Construction Page plugin really proved itself as the best maintenance mode plugin for WordPress. Instead of manually creating a maintenance page, the plugin will do it for you in just six quick steps.

Under Construction Page is completely free, and it is rapidly gaining popularity. There are more than one thousand downloads each day, and the numbers keep on growing. The plugin is updated twice per month; that means that bugs are practically non-existent, there are new features added on a regular basis, and you get to use a new theme with each update. It’s amazing to have something like this with a free plugin, isn’t it?

As the developers keep on saying how simple it is to set up an under construction page with the plugin, we tested it and summarized the entire process in 6 simple steps.

Install and Activate the Plugin

Quick Steps Towards a Professional & Personalized Under Construction Page

The first step is obvious, and unless this is the first plugin you’ve ever installed, you already know how to do it. Whether you download the ZIP file from the official WordPress plugins repository page or install the plugin by going to Plugins -> Add New, and searching for it, you’ll have your copy of Under Construction Page activated in seconds.

After the installation process, all the settings can be located by navigating to Settings -> UnderConstruction.

Choose a Theme

Quick Steps Towards a Professional & Personalized Under Construction Page

For starters, skip the first tab on the settings page. Instead, go to the second one labeled “Design.”

From this tab, you’ll be able to choose a theme for your new under construction page. At the moment of writing this, there were fifteen beautiful images you could choose from. All the templates have been professionally designed, and we’re sure everyone can find the one they like. Unfortunately, there is no option to upload a custom image, but we’ve been told that the developers are already working on that.

To select a theme, just click on it. If you want to personalize the selected template, you have the option to enter your custom CSS code on the bottom of this tab.

Add Content

Quick Steps Towards a Professional & Personalized Under Construction Page

After selecting the theme, let’s add some content. Switch the tab to the next one and start working on your content.

Add the title, description, and headline. The main content has its own editor, so you can write anything you like. Whether it’s just once sentence or the entire story, it’s up to you. Here you can add images, videos, and any custom HTML you want. The only downside of the editor is that it doesn’t support 3rd party shortcodes, but we hope that the developers will fix this in the future updates.

Add Social Media Icons

On the same “Content” tab, there are other options that you will just have to have on your under construction page. While you’re doing maintenance, you want your visitor to be able to contact you. So, add social media links, your email address, and phone number.

The plugin will take care of the rest and create the icons that will be displayed on the bottom of under construction page.

Manage Access

Quick Steps Towards a Professional & Personalized Under Construction Page

Since the plugin is usually used while the main site is under construction or while admins are doing updates & fixes, it’s important to let specific users have access to the regular website. This can be done through the following settings tab.

By opening “Access” tab, you can quickly whitelist any user role or any username. For example, if you whitelist them, all administrators on the blog will never see the under construction page. Instead, they will get to work on your main site. This is a must-have option for any maintenance plugin.

Turn on the Under Construction Mode

After browsing through settings tabs, you can finally go back to the first one. The “Main” tab contains a button that controls the under construction mode. By clicking the button, you can put your site in maintenance mode or take it out of one.

Additionally, you can set an end date for the page. If you used the plugin as coming soon page and you have set a date for publishing the site, this is the option for you.

Want to track the number of visits to your new under construction page? No problem. Just paste your Google Analytics ID, and you’re ready to go. If you’ve connected your GA account with the page, you might also want to add Google Analytics to your dashboard as well to keep track of visitors more easily.

Check out the Under Construction Page plugin for WordPress video for an overview of how the plugin works.

Creating a maintenance pages was quick & easy, wasn’t it? How do you like Under Construction Page plugin for WordPress?
